Hey Guys! Happy Valentines Day! My daughter was so excited about Valentine’s Day last night that she couldn’t go to sleep… for a while. Panic started to set in when I realized she was expecting something special and was maybe building the day up in her mind more than I had. Yikes! I had already gotten the kids a little gift, but I thought a special breakfast would top it all off! Enter… EASY Red Velvet Waffles!
Now listen… I don’t tend to go overboard on holidays nor do I for breakfast for that matter! So believe me when I say this wasn’t much different than my regular morning waffles. I still used Bisquick baking mix and just added in a few little extras to make it special. Then I topped it with a cream cheese icing drizzle and voila! A special valentines breakfast anyone is sure to love!

Red Velvet Waffles
So easy yet so special!
Cream Cheese Icing
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 4 Tbsp butter softened
- 3 Tbsp milk plus more to thin
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups Original Bisquick mix
- 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1 1/3 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp canola oil
- 1 egg
- 1/2 Tbsp red gel food color
Mix cream cheese and butter together with a whisk until smooth. Whisk in the milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Whisk in more milk as needed to get to a drizzling consistency. Set aside.
Heat waffle iron. Mix together the bisquick, sugar, and cocoa. Add in the milk, oil, egg, and food coloring. Stir until everything is well combined.
Fill waffle iron and cook until desired doneness. Drizzle with cream cheese icing and serve immediately.
