Immune Booster Smoothie

It’s time.  It couldn’t last forever.  I knew it couldn’t.  I know I was getting cocky saying things like, “Not us, we’re doing so well!”  Stupid.  That was just stupid of me.  You’re probably thinking, why would you be so foolish to talk like that? And I  know! I get it.  It was just so glorious, those few months.  I was happy then.  We were ALL healthy!   And now?  The germs.  They’ve found us.  They know where we live and sleep.  They’ve found an in and once they find an in, it’s over.  But if there’s one thing we aren’t in this family, it’s quitters.  So now… we fight!

Immunity Boosting Smoothie with carrot, orange, strawberries, turmeric & ginger.

Okay, okay that may have been a little melodramatic but seriously, the dreaded cold!  Oh, the tissues.  It starts with one and it’s inevitable.  It’s going to hit us all.  UGH!  Well, we can cry about it or we can do our best to fill our bodies up with some nutrients.  We need some help us fight off these sickies!  So of course, I made a smoothie and will keep making smoothies until we are all healthy again.  Read on for today’s version of the Immune Booster Smoothie!

Immune Booster Smoothie

Fill up on vitamin A & C and other goodies with this immune boosting smoothie!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk, almond milk, or regular milk
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 orange peeled
  • 1/2 carrot
  • 6 frozen strawberries
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1/2 inch piece fresh ginger peeled
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients into blender in order listed.  Blend on high until smooth. Drink immediately.
